Weakened FSL Ripe For The Picking

We're Long Overdue To Beat These Guys

Rocky Mountain Cup time again!  After a 0-0 draw earlier this season the Cup will be decided in two games in Commerce City; tomorrow night and October 4th.  A win tomorrow would really put the pressure on FSL whereas a loss of any sort would leave the Rapids with pretty much nothing to play for (the way our offense goes its hard to see us beating FSL by multiple goals in the third game) the rest of the way.  Game time tomorrow night is 7pm.  Yes, tomorrow night.  Originally the game was scheduled for Sunday but was recheduled for tomorrow.  Tailgate starts at 4pm with Polygamy Pork Sandwiches on the menu (pork made with Polygamy Porter),  'Celo and Felming will have teh call on Altitude.

Injury Report:
OUT: D Axel Sjoberg (Knee); MF Juan Ramirez (hamstring)

Discipline:
ONE YELLOW FROM SUSPENSION: D Bobby Burling (1 game left for good behavior reduction); D Jared Watts (3 games left for good behavior reduction)
TWO YELLOWS FROM SUSPENSION: D Drew Moor; D James Riley; D Axel Sjoberg; M Sam Cronin; M Lucas Pittinari

International Absences:
F Gabriel Torres (Panama's Gold Cup squad)

Vancouver is down 4 players to the Gold Cup team, including Beckerman, Rimando, and Rapids-killer Saborio, and a player due to injury.  That's as weak as we'll see them for a long time.  My guess on our XI:

But really, who knows.  Pablo's decisions have not made sense recently.  With the full week of rest I would hope to see a full strength squad, especially on the back line.

Strategic Consideration: Get on them early and keep the pressure on.  They'll break.  They are not a good team compared to prior years.

Prediction: 1-0 win, goal by Sarvas.  Yeah, I'm being optimistic with this one but we looked better last week against Vancouver.  I think we take that momentum against a weakened FSL team and come out with a win.
